It is not uncommon for a client to come into the studio, sigh, relax and exclaim, "I'm home." That's the vibe at Dead Horse Studio - relaxed, creative, yet professional. Jon and the staff encourage creativity and comfort. The warmth of the studio is enhanced by the wood-lined walls and floors.
The gear is top notch (see our equipment list). The studio is built around an extraordinary Neve V 5106 console. The console was completely recapped and serviced by David Brown in December 2006. In outstanding condition, this classic warm console is the only full-blown Neve desk in the state. The rooms were custom-designed by Jon and Baird Banner (a recording engineer and audio legend in NM). The large and comfortable control room is well-tuned and tweaked by yet another legend Andy Byrd - a 30-year veteran of the Nashville recording scene and a Grammy winner in his own right. There are three separate recording (cutting) rooms plus a voice over\iso room. All the rooms have parquet floors. Clear lines of sight exist throughout the entire studio for enhanced visual communication among artists and producers in different rooms. The studio is equipped with a sophisticated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system for quiet comfort in all seasons.
